Set 'Em Up Joes was conceived in the back of an Indian curry house in Holloway (well they do do a good korma). Y'see Clare had agreed to sing in a charity cabaret with some mates and then they all bailed, oh yeah "got work", so she was left with songs she wanted to sing and no-one to sing them to. So over some poppadums and a glass of wine (well they do do a good wine) she drunkenly came up with Set 'Em Up Joes - an intimate, post modern, comical cabaret for talented, charming, good looking (that's probably the most important attribute actually) performers who enjoy getting up close & personal with an audience getting sloshed before their eyes.

Set 'Em Up Joes resident MCs are angel faced poison tongued Clare Lomas and Jamie Anderson. They first met acting in a devised political play that criticised a lack of perspective in the westernised world. Ironically years later they've both embodied that lack of perspective from Jamie's rants about the merits/pitfalls of Gaydar to Clare's sermons on why actors shouldn't work in offices.

The tastiest of theatrical talent drop in to Set 'Em Up Joes each month to amuse, inspire and woo you into the small wee hours. Recent guests include west end wendies Rob Archibald (Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera), Erin Carter (Rocky Horror Show),Verity Quade (Sister Act, Jerry Springer the Opera), Andrew Pepper (Mary Poppins, Force of Nature) Vikki Stone (Vikki Stone & friends) to name a few. Set 'Em Up Joes guests are given free rein which results in many intriguing songs about losing weight, fancying bald men, the mishaps in feminine hygiene, and reworking the Neighbours theme tune.
